Catamaran Cozumel El Cielo Tour

Cozumel El Cielo Tour

Quick descripcion

Do you want to visit the Cielo in Cozumel and snorkel with the star fish in amazing crystal blue waters? Then you have come to the right place!

What is el Cielo Beach?

Only accessible by boat, El Cielo in Cozumel is a snorkeling spot where you can see an incredible number of starfish and snorkel in unbelievably turquoise waters.

The Catamaran Cozumel El Cielo Tour is one of the most popular things to do in Cozumel, taking you to El Cielo plus some amazing snorkeling in the world-renowned coral reef.

What is Catamarán Cozumel El Cielo Tour

Cozumel Catamaran Tour

First, let's start with some of the basics about catamarans in Cozumel:

Catamaran is a large ship with two hulls of equal size that are connected by a bridge deck.

The two-hull design improves stability and allows the catamaran to be better balanced in the water and when sailing. It also allows more deck space than traditional yachts.

Going on a catamaran from Cozumel is one of the most unique things to do in the Riviera Maya and is one of the best ways to see and experience the stunning turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

It is a fun and totally unforgettable experience if you love the ocean and being on a boat.

Advantages of the Catamaran

  • The catamarans that the company has are spacious, comfortable and stable
  • Bathrooms are available
  • Space to move (dance and/or take photos in different parts of the boat)
  • Open Bar
  • Music
  • Buffet lunch
  • They are Catamarans so it is easy to get into the water, and back onboard

Book in advance

This excursion is very popular and is almost always sold out days in advance, so on this particular excursion, it's important to plan ahead and always book so that lack of availability doesn't become an obstacle.

Catamaran Cozumel El Cielo Tour from Playa del Carmen

The tour leaves from Cozumel, so if you feel comfortable taking the ferry and getting to Cozumel on your own, I would recommend booking the tour that meets in Cozumel.

Otherwise, an all-inclusive tour that includes Playa del Carmen ferry tickets would be your easiest and hassle-free option.

  • Even days: Check-in at 9:30 am to leave at 10:00 am
  • Odd days: Check-in 10:30 am to check out at 11:00 am

Duration of the Catamarán Cozumel El Cielo Tour

The check-in process is approximately at 10:30 a.m., to be leaving at 11:00 a.m. and you are back in downtown Cozumel at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Snorkeling

The catamaran is a nice boat, it is clean, safe and big. There are 4-5 crew members on board and although it is a lot of fun, they take safety very seriously. They will give a good explanation of snorkelling, and they are extremely helpful, especially for those who are not experienced swimmers.

If you're a little worried about snorkeling at first, don’t worry the boat is well staffed and the crew will be in the water to make sure you don’t stray too far. The staff will make sure everyone is safe.

The snorkeling spot is amazing and the water is one of the clearest you’ve ever seen. You will see tropical fish and huge coral formations.

The reef is fascinating

El Cielo (Star fish)

Cozumel Estrellas de Mar

The water here is warm and crystal clear, dotted with gem-like starfish

I can't even explain how beautiful the color of the water is, and the amount of starfish you can see is truly spectacular. El Cielo is definitely the best place to snorkel in Cozumel!

El Cielito / Sandy area

Cozumel Estrellas de mar

El Cielito is really like a paradise and it is very family friendly, all will enjoy, from children to grandparents!

El Cielito / Shallow area is very relaxing and the waters are super clear. Depths run from thigh height to neck height. Manta rays sometimes swim around, but they don’t bother people. I highly recommend taking a snorkel tour that ends in Cielo. It’s fantastic! There are also many beautiful starfish! If you are looking to de-stress and forget about all your worries, this is the place to go!

The manta rays are tame and swim by, showing off for everyone. The sand is white and soft, while a shimmering sun is overhead. It’s a fun place, with music playing from the boats as people stand knee-deep in the depths and enjoy a refreshing beer or soft drink.

Cozumel El Cielo is a dream place in the Caribbean, it is hard to believe that all those shades of blue exist in one place!

Open Bar

Did I mention that this excursion has an open bar? Oh yes. Right after all the water activities the bar opens for everyone over 18 years old

Your glass will always be full, whether it's beer, margaritas or soft drinks, and a family atmosphere is promoted

In Catamaran Cozumel el Cielo Tour a national open bar is included. Consists of the following unlimited drink options

  • Soda
  • Tap beer
  • Margaritas

  • Showers
  • Swimming pool
  • Waterpark with slides for children

  • Restaurant

After the physical exertion of swimming in the reef and sunbathing, you will be hungry. But don’t worry, we’ve thought of everything.

The Cozumel Catamaran to Cielo Tour includes a buffet meal. You can serve yourself as many times as you want, the portions you want.

We only ask that you take what you are going to eat.

Crew

From the moment you step aboard the catamaran, the crew will make you feel welcome and safe. They are entertaining, hardworking, caring, and fun.

They will take care of all of your needs in the water, they will be responsible for your safety. They will make sure that you always have a cold drink in your hand and anything else you may need, all you have to do is ask.

Good equipment, great boat, and an even better crew

Don't think anymore

So, are you ready to tour El Cielo Cozumel? I really hope this El Cielo information was helpful and that you get to experience such a beautiful place!

It will definitely be one of the most memorable snorkeling tours you have ever been on.

Advice

For those who experience motion sickness, take a Dramamine before boarding. The boat sways with the waves, not bad, but if you’re sensitive it's a good idea.

Brad

"What a great time. $70 for a catamaran ride from the ferry peer to near the southern tip of the island and back. Snorkel on a reef, wait service at el cielo with the star fish and then drinks on the boat. Lunch and open bar at Playa Mia Grand with access to inflatable jungle gym, beach, pools, and slides capped off a great day. Unbelievable value. What a blast and I feel like we tasted some of the best that Cozumel has to offer."

El

"We went there as a part of a day tour to Cozumel and Cielo, I can tell you that its a bunch of fun and the place is super family friendly, my small 3 and 5-year-old kids had a blast. No sargassum on the beach."

Pat

"The crew of the vessel very nice and service excellent/ everything perfect weather was nice a bit choppy when we got to Reef things sorta got a bit out of hand lots of new people very young and old to snorkeling. Several people required assistance which the dive masters got buoys to and back to vessel. This bunched up everybody people kicked in faces etc. We were advised to follow the red flag dive master which when assisting other divers bunched up the rest and there were a lot of people guessing 40 or more in the water .Perhaps they should divide the groups into 3 groups 1 for experienced snorkeling 2 for less experienced 3 for new divers/ and have a safety diver to get people with difficulties back to vessel. I personally will look for a smaller group to do my next snorkel."

Robin

"We booked a package through our hotel in Playa del Carmen which included transport to Cozumel, a catamaran trip to a snorkel area and a beautiful beach (cielo?) a trip to Playa Mia and return transfer back to Playa del Carmen. The catamaran staff were friendly and helpful, and the beach was absolutely breath taking. The snorkelling wasn't much - not a lot of fish - but still well organized. When we arrived at the Playa Mia Park we had just about 2 hrs to eat and play - so not a huge amount of time."

Hugo

"We did a snorkel tour(planacar and el Cielo) and got to spend some hours eating, drinking and playing at this beach club. It ended up being a lot of fun and a good value."
